Software Development Life Cycle

SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT LIFE CYCLE.

A software may undergo the following stages or phases during its development.

►Priliminary Investigations.
►Requirements Gathering Phase.
►Analysis Phase.
►Design Phase.
►Implementation Phase.
►Testing Phase.
►Maintinance Phase.

Priliminary Investigations.

In this phase of software development, all the basic information about the software is gathered that is to be built.

Requirements Gathering Phase.

In this phase, after the priliminary investigations about the software, all the needs i.e. all the basic requirements are gathered for software development.

Analysis Phase.

In the Analysis phase of software development, the focus is on "What to do" which includes all the concepts about the data, information, performance, functions, design contraints and all the features related to the software.

Design Phase.

In Design Phase , the focus is kept on "How to do" concept, i.e. after gathering all the basic requirements with their brief analysis, now designing techniques are used to actually Design the software.

Implementation Phase.

In the Implementation Phase of the software development, the software is developed according to the design created.

Testing Phase.

After the implementation of software, software is tested for defects or bugs in the Testing Phase. So, in this phase, the bugs of the software are tracked and then removed.

Maintinance Phase.

After testing the software, if their are bugs, then software is maintained according to the customer requirements with no bugs at all. This is done in the Maintinance Phase.
