SOFTWARE TESTING CATEGORIES.
There are a lot of software testing techniques other than White Box and Black Box testing techniques. Some of them are mentioned below:
►Static Testing.
►Dynamic Testing.
►Static Testing.
Static testing refers to testing something that is not running i.e. examining and reviewing that thing.
►Dynamic Testing.
Dynamic testing is what you would normally think of as testing .ie. testing the running software.
Software Testing Fundamentals.
The basic fundamentals of software testing are:
►Static Black Box testing.
►Static White Box testing.
►Dynamic Black Box testing.
►Dynamic White Box testing.
►Static Black Box testing.
It involves testing (examing) the specification and looking for problems before they get written into software.
►Static White Box testing.
It involves examining the details of the software through reviews and inspections.
►Dynamic Black Box testing.
It involves testing the software without knowing how it works.
►Dynamic White Box testing.
It involves testing the software when you can see how the sfoftware works and the base of test is upon that information.
NOTE
♦Black box testing is sometimes referred to as "Functional testing" or "Behavioral Testing".
♦White box testing is sometimes referred to as "Clear box testing".
